[edit] Early Life

I grew up in San Luis Obispo, California and went to San Luis Obispo High School. However, my parents have now moved up to Burlingame which is just south of the city of San Francisco.

[edit] College

I am a senior at Mount Holyoke College. I am an American Studies major and a Religion minor. I plan to go to law school after working for a year. On the Varsity swim team, I swim breaststroke and own a piece of three medley relay records. You can also read more about me on the MHC Athletics Swim and Diving Team pageI also take riding lessons at the barn with CJ.

[edit] My Favorite Restaurant

My favorite "restaurant" is Jamba Juice! This chain is a quintesential California treasure. On a warm summer day nothing is better for lunch then a orange dream machine smoothie from Jamba!

[edit] Classwork

This is where I will post classwork for Computer Science 110: The Art & Science of Computer Graphics.

[edit] A Simple Model: Lab 2

This was the first model I made. I created the pedal as a group and than the whole flower head as a group with all the pedals rotated around the middle. Then I attached the stem to the head making a flower which I could easily replicate. Then I made a vase for the bouquet of flowers to sit in.

[edit] Working with Custom Objects: Lab 3

I created a Present using a Mesh, Diference, Intersection, Sweep and Mirroring. It might look simple but it was very difficult to make the ribbons look realistic in 3d. I have included pictures of it from different angels.

[edit] Modeling with Realistic Materials: Lab 4

I made a beach scene with a gigantic wave crashing down into the beach, washing away the beach ball. I made over four new materials and used a spot light comming from where the sun is located to act as sunlight. Here are two different versions of the scene.

[edit] Suprise: Lab 5

The image on the left is the scene from the front, it looks like an odd brown cube. But when you look at the image on the right which was taken from the back of the scene you realise the cube is a wooden lecture podium, complete with lecture notes. Look at the scene from the front again, behind the podium is a big chalkboard.

[edit] Programmed Replicataion: Lab 6

For this lab I made a TARGET ad. I made both the red and the white TARGET logo. I replicated the logo to make wall paper and used it on my objects like they do in the TARGET commercials. I also replicated the objects on a bookshelf because TARGET ads always replicate household goods. Thank you to all the people I borrowed objects from: Devora Kremer for her window, Mr. Teresco for his lighting, Katelyn Popp for her toaster, Meredith Bartelstein for her book and Shara Evan for her truck!

[edit] Animation: Lab 7

1st Part: Bezier Curves

Fish Prism: This is what happens when two bezier curves make a loop and you then make that shape into a prism, you get a shape that looks like a fish.

Heart Prism: I used one bezier curve to make half the heart and then used a straight line to connect the ends of the curve so it could be made into a prism. I then mirrored that heart along the yz axis and added two sides to make a full heart.

Seaweed: I used two bezier curves to make the outline I wanted on the right side of the seaweed. I used the same y and moved the x points a hundered units to the left to make the left side of the seaweed. I then had to connect both the top and bottom of the curves. All these curves then had to be put in order so that the computer can follow a continuous line.

2nd Part: Animation

I made an underwater scene. Using animation along two bezier curves I was able to make the fish swim in and out of the seaweed!

[edit] Final Projet: Ferris Wheel

For my final project I am making a Ferris Wheel in a night scene. The Ferris Wheel is very realistic complete with 4 metal lattice support arms. The different colored cars are added randomly by a new function multiAddRotRandomMat. I made this new function to fix my problem of the cars rotating when they are added. The metal is glowing because it is suppose to look like there are neon lights on the bars. I put in two billboards of fireworks with lights shinning out of the fireworks. I used animation to make it rotate and I was even able to simulate gravity. Here are lots of pictures of all the parts and some of the different animations.
