[edit] Coming at You From Glendale (sort of)
Charli grew up in Glendale, California, but she is coming at you from South Hadley Mass. Charli has a strong grounding in the arts. Growing up she studied dance, music, and art. She hopes these will help her to create great designs for film and television.
[edit] Education
She is majoring in History with a concentration in South Asia and working on a second concentration in the United States. Her study of both has been centered around the impact of colonization by the British Empire.
She is minoring in Theater Arts. Study of stage arts has given her a solid grounding in set design and history.
[edit] Charity Work
In her free time Charli designs stuffed animals for charity. These animals will be given to children in the hospital. There are some photos of animals she has already made in an album on her Facebook page.
[edit] Favorite Place for Food
Charli loves to eat at home. She makes pies, but never one at a time. Tri-colored Peppermint Cookies are also a favorite.
[edit] Studio Lab Graphics
[edit] Lab 2
I find the process by which an image is produced to be as valuable at the image. I copied my tree to make a little forest.
Small changes to the code produced very different moods for each image.
[edit] Lab 3
All my objects
This is an image of all my objects and all my objects at 1/10 scale.
[edit] Lab 4
This is my red, blue and purple marble. It is very transperent and has a white plaster shpere in the center.
[edit] Modeling with Realistic Materials
This is the best image of my scene as a whole. Both street lamps are visiable. The night "sky" also allows the lamps to have some color and the lighting tools to cast more shadows. The scene only has light eminating from the objects that look like lamps (the streetlamps and the headlamps on the bus.
[edit] Lab 5 :Suprise!
[edit] Lab 6 : Programing Replication
The streets were all added using multiAdd, so were the dancers. This scene is huge but it was easy to add all the street lamps, roads and dancers. This imag of a city park with women dancing in red dresses is a great dispaly of the multiAdd function that we learned in class.
[edit] Lab 7 : Bezier Curves
The waves in this image were created using 3 Bezier curves. The waves are then added using the much loved multiAdd. My surfer though brave to try to surf on such a turbulent day has fallen off again. Good thing she is wearing a bright yellow suit so the life guards can find her and her red board.
[edit] Lab 7 : Animated Scene
My ocean seen from 4 vantage points
The wave starts its animation
The waves have gone back into the ocean.
For the animation of this scene I used the ball toss code that we used in class. This lab is a prepitory step toward my final project, the RMS SS Titanic. The surfer now has a bright green bathing suit and a really dark tan. She needs to be resuced soon or the sunburn will get really bad. This is a lesson to children everywhere, wear your sunscreen.
In this animation the waves wash over many many times by splicing the frames together many times.
[edit] Final Project
[edit] Stage One of the Titanic
This igmage shows the differnt PatchMeshed that are being used.
Each section is a different color, this allows me to tell which patch needs to be adjusted when the points aren't where I want them.
Once the Patches are fixed the boat is made gray and red, like the Titanic.
This is a view of the bow (front) of the ship.
This is a few of the stern of the boat looking toward the bow (back to front).
The Strange shape of the stern has something to do with reduced water surface tension.
[edit] Stage Two
Working with Waves:
This is my first successful trial of the wave animation. For the final project there will be two groups of waves rolling along different paths to make the ocean look real.
[edit] Stage Three
More images as I get closer to the final product:
Iceberg
This iceberg is made out of 4 cubes with different materials overlaping to give the impression of the fractured within an iceberg
This is from when the ice berg was added to the scene but not scaled with everything else in the scene
The Sunsetting colors
Still of the scene not yet animated
[edit] The Final Step
This is a still from my final animation. The iceberg is just showing and the camera swings all the way around the back and over the stern of the Titanic. It was important to me that the sky change color as the camera moves. The color change is supposed to show the changing colors of the sky as the sun sets.
